9 AYURVEDIC TIPS FOR SKIN CARE

We all desire beautiful, glowing and smooth skin but the pollution and dust around us makes this very difficult to achieve. To maintain a blemish free and healthy skin, try these Ayurvedic Tips.
Read below to understand few ayurvedic tips for glowing skin:
1. What you eat and drink affects your skin: Eat vegetables, Legumes, walnut, avocado, salmon, tomato, and pomegranate to nourish your skin. Retain your skin’s glow by indulging in excessive water intake, fiber food and good fats. Also Eat like a bird.
Both traditional and Ayurvedic medicine agree that adding seeds and nuts into your diet will improve the condition of your skin. Vata is drying by nature so all foods that have natural healthy fats in them will prevent this imbalance. Nuts and seeds are a perfect food – they contain Omega-3s, healthy fats, and fiber to help a weakened Vata digestion. You can also try adding almonds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and other nuts to your oatmeal (or having them as your afternoon snack, when Vata naturally predominates)”
2. Drinking plenty of water to purify and hydrate your body. Take cooling herbs and spices such as mint and cardamom to achieve a healthy looking skin.
3. Spicy food If you already have acne problems, go slow on spicy food items. Also holy basil leaves juice helps to remove white patches and acne [2]
4. Use a herbal scrub to exfoliate your skin. Go with a non-soap based gentle cleanser that deep cleanses your skin without drying it. Avoid chemical based products, you could make your own cleanser using almond meal, oatmeal, milk and rosewater(normal skin) or yogurt, a little lemon and neem powder(oily skin).
5. Clean your skin and pores with unpasteurized milk. Make a face mask by mixing turmeric powder, milk, and sandalwood paste. Apply it on the face for 10-15 minutes and wash it with water.
7. Make your own herbal moisturizer. Mix yogurt with a tablespoon of both lemon and orange juice and use as a face mask. Leave it on your face for a while and wash it off with lukewarm water.
8. Condition your skin with a mixture of two tablespoon of cream with honey, leave it on for 5 minutes and remove with a wet cotton ball.
9.  Rub a raw potato or use orange juice to get smooth complexion, even skin tone and get rid of pigmentation.
10. Get enough sleep to give your body much needed rest, if not, fine lines, wrinkles and breakouts become evident.
11. Try aromatherapy or any hydrating massage for the skin.
Adopt Ayurveda for natural, beautiful looking skin because ayurvedic skin care tips will offer your natural health over the chemical tips.
